The new modern house as a gallery is the premise behind a new contemporary event space in downtown Dallas. What was once a 1950s automotive service facility is now the epitome of modern luxury with elegant flowing spaces and a profusion of light providing the perfect backdrop for indoor and outdoor entertaining.
Designed to be simple and elegant using contemporary materials like concrete, steel, copper, translucent panels and glass, the space conjures up a different notion of lavish entertaining, comfortably allowing for both public and private spaces. The ultra modern aesthetic conforms to the lifestyle of its founders, simultaneously accommodating different patterns of contemporary life, privacy, interaction and relaxation. The 7,800 square foot space includes 3,000 square feet of offices, a 1,000 square foot studio/green room, with an additional privately enclosed 10,000 square feet courtyard garden.
The public spaces, are comprised of a 22' foot atrium gallery with lounge areas located on the first floor in a play of single and double height volumes with multiple sky lights. Both the first and second floor maintain an uninterrupted view of the garden and offer expansive views of the surrounding outdoor landscape.
A majestic north entrance leads visitors into the lush green courtyard garden revealing the spaces character as a unique private oasis in the city. The sophisticated simplicity of the Zen Japanese inspired design includes an extensive water feature and outdoor sculpture garden. Although private and enclosed, the courtyard is both a formal garden and an external living room.
